How to Improve Vision

Vision can be improved without using medications with harmful side effects. Many people with vision problems are on medication and wearing contacts, glasses or both. There are some natural methods that can help with improving vision. Check with your doctor before trying any new treatments.

  1. Increase Vitamin A in your diet. People with poor night vision need more vitamin A in their diet. If you are taking Vitamin A in pill form, then don’t take more than the required dosage. Other ways to get vitamin A is through foods such as spinach, butternut squash, apricots, sweet potatoes and mangoes. Add vitamin A to your diet every other day to get enough for improving vision.

  2. Give the body more B12. B12 supplements are available at nutrition and health stores. Many vegetarians lack enough B12 in their diet because of it being found in meat. The fastest way to get the supplement in your system is to use the spray form which is sprayed under the tongue.

  3. Unclog your body's drainage system with Omega-3. Blockage can form around the eyes and fill up the drainage system. You can unclog your body's drainage system by increasing Omega-3 intake, which can decrease inflammation. Take from 1,000 to 1,500 milligrams of Omega-3 a day.

  4. Wear sunglasses to protect the eyes when outdoors. Ultraviolet rays can cause macular degeneration of the eyes. If you have light colored eyes, then you are the most at risk. Wear glasses with 100 percent ultraviolet protection.
