How to Install Corrugated Metal Siding.
Corrugated metal siding is a popular option for many homes, barns, sheds and even office buildings. This is because using this material is both fast and easy to install. Luckily, for many homeowners this siding can be installed with a few tools, and in just a matter of hours.
Supplies:
- Corrugated metal siding
- Siding nails
- Corner siding edge pieces
- Steel saw
1. Survey the exterior of the frame of the structure you want to side. Make sure all the wires and insulation are tucked away, not sticking out.
2. Starting at the bottom corner of one side, place the first siding sheet in place so it lines up against the side and ground. Nail the sheet into place with the holes already in place on the siding. You can also nail the siding pieces against the studs of the frame.
3. Add another piece of siding directly on top of the previous piece. Nail the siding into place. Continue this process all the way up the side of the building. Before nailing in the top piece, measure how high it needs to be and cut the siding with a steel saw to the proper size. Nail in place.
4. Repeat the entire process on the entire structure, until all sides are covered.
5. Add edging to the corner of the building. They cover the sharp edges left behind by the siding and give a smooth corner. They are easily nailed into place.
6. Add corner trim around any openings, such as windows and doors, to prevent sharp edges from sticking out.
