Things you will need:

  • Cabinet doors

  • Cabinet knobs

  • Hinges

  • Screwdriver

  • Tape measure

  1. Obtain the measurements for your doors. Measure the length, width and height needed for the new doors.

  2. Decide where you wish to buy your doors. If you want a large selection to choose from then you can go with a store that specializes in cabinet doors. This option will give you more personalization, but it will also cost more money. If you are on a budget you may want to consider buying your doors from a home improvement store instead.

  3. Take off your existing doors. Remove the old cabinet doors and dispose of them.

  4. Connect the hinges to the new door. Place three hinges equally spaced on the rear edge of the new door.

  5. Mark the base of the cabinet. Measure where the top edge of the door will be put on the base of the cabinet.

  6. Use chalk string to mark your base. Take chalk string to the marks that you put on the base of the cabinet and snap a chalk line. Doing this will help you line the doors up evenly. Place the new door over this opening using the chalk line as a guide.

  7. Label the top hinges on each frame. Mark the location of the top hinges on each cabinet frame. Open the hinges and position the door flush with the frame, lining up the hinges with hinge marks.

  8. Secure the hinges. Using a screwdriver, screw the hinges to the frame. Next, erase all the marks that you made and attach your knobs to the cabinet doors.
