  1. Determine the area where you will be installing the dog run. You want to choose an area that will allow your dog to have ample space to run and explore.

  2. Create a plan for your dog run with different features that benefit your dog’s needs.

  3. Decide on the length of your dog run. Longer runs are more beneficial for large dogs, while a small run will work great for tiny dogs.

  4. Measure the area of your dog run to get an idea of the amount of fencing you will need.

  5. Purchase your fencing.

  6. Install the fencing in the yard to create the dog run.

  7. Place a doghouse inside of the fencing if you want to give your animal an enclosed area to rest in between activity.

  8. Remove any large rocks from the area inside of your dog run. This will ensure your dog’s safety when he is placed inside the area.

  9. Examine the dog run to be sure is it properly enclosed and safe for your animal. There should not be any loose fencing or sharp areas found of your fencing material.

  10. Put a water dish inside of the dog run to ensure your animal always receiving proper hydration while using the run.
