How to Install a Sport Rack

A sport rack is a set of rails that sit on top of a car or van. They are capable of holding sporting equipment, luggage and a variety of other things. Many vehicles come with a sport rack already installed, but some do not. To learn how to install a sport rack follow the steps below.

Step 1: Read the directions that come with the sport rack and assemble it properly. The assembly should be fairly simple.

Step 2: Position the sport rack on top of your vehicle. The rack should be completely centered on the roof of the car. It is best to use a tape measure to get accurate measurements.

Step 3: Use a marker to mark where the screws will go into the roof. Do the same on the sport rack.

Step 4: Use a drill to insert the screws through the sport rack and roof of your vehicle.

Step 5: Most sport racks are adjustable. Once you have secured the sport rack onto the roof of your vehicle, you can adjust it to a size that best fit your needs.

Step 6: Clean the roof thoroughly to remove any metal shavings.
