How to Lay Mosaic Tile Sheets
Ceramic tile sheets can add an elegant appeal to your bathroom. Instead of installing ceramic tiles one by one, you have the option of using ceramic tile sheets for faster and easier installation. If you're interested in sprucing up your bathroom with ceramic tile sheets follow these steps.
What you will need:
- 5/32" V-notch trowel
- Rubber grout float
- Stainless steel mosaic tile
- Wall or floor tile mortar
- Grout
- Clean sponge
- Two buckets
- Motorized tile cutter
- Flat wood block
- Hammer
- Follow the instructions on the mortar/adhesive for proper preparation.
- Apply adhesive onto the surface using the flat side of the V-notch trowel.
- Switch to the V-notched side of the trowel and apply adhesive to create depth.
- Apply and install the mosaic tile sheets on top of the mortar. Press down lightly to secure.
- Continue applying sheets making sure each set of sheets' grout joints line up.
- Place a wood block over each mosaic sheet and lightly tap with a hammer to ensure that all sheets are leveled.
- Wait 10 to 15 minutes to remove protective covering from tiles. If the covering is made of paper, wet the paper first and then peel off.
- Make any necessary adjustments to the tile, making sure they are uniform.
- Wait 24 hours and then use a nylon scrub brush to remove any excess material off the tiles.
- Wipe with a damp sponge.
- Use your rubber grout float to apply grout to the tiles.
- Use damp sponge to remove excess grout.
- When grout has fully set in and dried, use a sponge to wipe off grout haze from the tiles.
