How to Locate Home Furnishing Auctions

Home furnishing auctions offer a variety of different items like antique furniture and gently used home items.  If you are looking for one of these auctions look in your local paper for auction advertisements and search your neighborhood for estate auction flyers.  If you can't find any furnishing auctions locally then visit an online auction site to see if you can find items that you like.

  • Look in your local paper for auction listings in your area.  Find auctions that have home furnishings in their title or list furniture items in the auction description.  If there is no description in the advertisement look for words like antique, home, or variety of items.  Think about attending an auction even if there is no information about furnishings listed because often times these things will be offered along with other auction items.

  • Look for flyers around your town for estate auctions.  These auctions will have a variety of items like home furnishings that you can bid on.  Make sure to go early to an estate auction so that you can inspect furnishing items before you purchase them.  Also, early arrival will allow you to attend the entire auction so that you can get the home furnishings that you want and any items that others are not bidding on.

  • Conduct research online and locate auction houses in your area.  Call the auction houses that you've located and ask about the auctions they have, how often they occur, and what items they typically auction off.  If an auction house mentions that they auction home furnishings ask about when they next auction is held and whether or not you can attend.

  • Look for home furnishing auctions on online websites like Ebay because these sites often offer a variety of items that you can bid on.  If you are having trouble finding some of these auctions try searching on the site by using terms like furniture, antique furnishings and used home items.
