Plastic Cord Cross Necklaces
- Cut a 36-inch piece of plastic cord. Make four vertical rows of pony beans and another three vertical rows of pony beads. Make four rows of horizontal beads with 3 beads each.
- Place the end of the cords together. Place 4 beads on both sides of the cord. Pull all beads to the bottom and draw all together. Vertically line up two rows of beads. Tie the ends above the two rows, spread one end each to the left and the right.
- Place 3 pony beads on the left end of the cord. Place the two vertical rows and pull them to the center. Make 2 rows horizontally of 3 beads each. This will make the left arm of the cross. Repeat the process for the right arm. Fold back and thread 3 beads onto the cord.
- Wrap the strands around the 2 horizontal rows of beads. Make sure the beads are close to the first knot. Draw the cord straight up. Wrap the right strand and 2 right rows of beads straight up parallel to the left cord. Thread left strand vertically with 3 beads. Thread the right strand with the last 3 beads. Line both rows up evenly with the bottom part of the cross.
- Place the 2 strands together into a knot and the strands as close to the top as possible. Hold the tips of the necklace up around your neck. Put the cross to the length you want it to hang on your neck. Place the necklace behind your neck and tie into a double knot. Cut any excess string.
