How to Make Mango BBQ Sauce
Mango barbeque sauce gives meat a rich, succulent flavor that can’t be beat. It’s different, delicious and the perfect choice for dinner or decadent feast all your own. The recipe below uses fresh mango, but you can roast the mango for an added depth of flavor.
You need
- 4 cups mango pieces
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoon ginger powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard powder
- Food processor
- Mixing bowl
- Place mango pieces in a food processor and puree.
- Mix soy sauce, orange juice, olive oil and honey in a bowl. After they are combined, add the dry ingredients.
- Add mixture to the mango and puree. Blend until smooth.
- Use on a variety of grilled meats. The sauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to one week, or can be frozen for two months.
Tips
- The mango sauce works great as a marinade. Use chicken, beef, pork or seafood and place in a plastic freezer bag. Add 1¾ cups of sauce and massage to spread the sauce throughout the bag. Seal and put in the freezer. When ready to use, thaw overnight in the refrigerator for instantly marinated meat. Grill or bake as desired.
- To roast a mango, preheat your oven to 425 degrees, then peel and dice. Drizzle with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Place in a single layer on a roasting sheet covered with aluminum foil sprayed with non-stick spray. Roast for 20-25 minutes. You can drizzle a bit of honey on the mango to add sweetness.
