How to Make Money in Advertising

As the price of just about everything is increasing while incomes seem to be stagnant, many people are looking for creative ways to make some extra money. If you brainstorm for a while, eventually you can end up with a list of ways to put a little cash in your pocket. One suggestion for how you can make that extra money is in advertising

There are numerous options available to anyone looking to make money in advertising.  Some require some special skills, while others simply require a little creativity.  Look around you. Advertising is everywhere.  Look for ways to cash in on the abundance of opportunities.

  • Become a Walking or Driving Billboard– We have all seen cars that are wrapped in ads. You can wrap your car in corporate advertisements. There are companies that offer free sponsored cars for two years or pay drivers up to $400 a month to drive their own wrapped vehicles. If you cannot or will not plaster a company's name all over your car, try bumper stickers. Or, design a t-shirt, for a company that does not have one. Make a deal to walk around in it for a fee. Take periodic photos of yourself while you are out and about.

  •  Rent Out Your Lawn- Lawn signs are not just for garage sales and political candidates. You can advertise for just about any local business.

  •  Sell Space Online– Many of us have built up a more significant Internet presence than we realize. We have blogs, Facebook and twitter accounts and forum memberships. Each time you post on any of these sites, your signature can contain reference to your sponsor. Get paid for the number of posts you make showing your signature. It helps if you are a satisfied customer yourself, so you can share information if asked.

  •  Use Your Skills and Talents– If you can write, create a website or edit, you can make money in advertising. It takes time to build a clientele, but you can make quite a bit of money doing freelance work.  An online search will reveal dozens of content mills that are always looking for freelancers.

  •  Create an Online Advertising Business– Creating your own website opens up a number of new moneymaking opportunities in advertising. Once you build your site, your goal is to drive traffic to it.  This will make advertising on your site attractive to businesses. As you start to achieve volume, you can branch out to capture visitor emails and create a following through blog and twitter posts. The more traffic you create the more valuable your website will be to potential advertisers.
