How to Make Paper Magic Wallets

You can create your own magic wallet show. A magic wallet has two identical pockets and you can use these pockets to make it seem like a coin has disappeared or turn a $5 bill to a $1 bill. A magic wallet is all about the pockets and rotating the wallet to the other pocket is how you do all of your tricks.

Materials Needed:

  • Square sheet of paper

  • Scissors

  1. Fold the paper in half by bringing both sides of the paper together. Cut the paper in half along the fold. Place the paper right side down on a table and have the long side facing towards you.

  2. Form a parallelogram out of the paper. Fold the bottom left corner of the paper up at an angle. The left side of the paper should meet the top edge. Now fold the top right corner of the paper down at an angle. The right side of the paper should meet the bottom edge. Crease both of these folds to create your parallelogram.

  3. Form a triangle from the paper for the wallet. Fold down the top left corner until the top edge meets the center of the paper where the slit is. Make a crease in this fold. Fold the point of the left side to the right side. Make sure to fold down the middle of the paper along the slit. Make a crease in this fold to create your triangle.

  4. Bring the bottom right point of the triangle up to the top left point to fold the triangle in half. Sharply crease this fold and then unfold it.

  5. Open the pocket in the middle of the big triangle by squeezing the top left triangle. Fold the triangle again along the last crease you made by slipping the bottom right point of the wallet into this pocket you've just opened. You have just created a magic wallet.
