How to Make & Print a Poster or 3D Creation

Historically, 3D images were relegated to professionals with specific training and expensive graphic applications. Over time, additional programs have been developed to make this process available for a greater variety of people, and for a fraction of the cost that it once required.

There are different programs, including Daz Studio, Photoshop, and Poser, which can help you make and print a 3D image. Each person has a preference concerning different programs. For the purpose of this article, using Photoshop will be discussed.

Making and printing your image:

  1. Open up the Photoshop program. On the menu, pick "file" and then select "new." A dialogue box will pop up. You should choose to size the document 11x7 inches. Confirm your choice by clicking on "ok."

  2. After this, choose "new layer from 3D file." A dialogue box will then appear, and you need to find the first model you want to incorporate. You need to pick static (unmoving) models, because you cannot choose different poses for figures you are using in Photoshop. Once you find the one you want, click on "open."

  3. At the bottom part of the toolbar, locate the 3D tools. Using the tools, put the model where you would like it.

  4. For additional models you want to bring in, repeat steps two and three.

  5. Make sure you have paper in your printer.

  6. In the menu, click on "file", and then "print". Make sure that you have the printer you want to use listed, then click "print".
