How to Make a Brain Power Essential Oil Blend

Essential oils are known for their aromatherapy and healing properties.  Different essential oils have varying effects based on the natural compounds found in the oils.  An essential oil blend can be used to enhance memory, thinking and concentration.  It is easy to make and relatively inexpensive and when employed can improve overall brain function.

Things you will need:

  • Bottle for mixing and stirring

  • Eye dropper

  • Base oil of choosing

  • Essential oils including sandalwood, cedarwood, melissa, frankincense, blue cypress, lavender and helichrysum

  1. Choose a base oil in which to mix the essential oils.  There are many different types you can use; learn the properties of different kinds by researching online. Popular oils such as coconut oil are used frequently in essential oil blends.  Coconut oil has a light touch, does not make the skin oily, and has a longer shelf life than some other oils.

  2. Research essential oils and find ones that suit your needs and likes.  The above is a suggested list of popular essential oils used for increasing brain power.  These essential oils have a compound known as sesquiterpenes, which is known to increase oxygen to the brain, allowing better brain function.  Each essential oil will have its own scent and aromatherapy benefits.  For example, lavender has a fresh floral scent, and is known for its calming properties and ability to increase concentration.

  3. Add five to 10 drops of each essential oil that you have chosen for your mixture. Mix the scents of the oils to match your preferences.  The melissa and blue cypress oils are usually added using only five drops, and the others at ten drops.

  4. Fill the bottle with the base oil that you chose in step one.

  5. Close lid tightly and shake to mix the oils.  The essential oils blend can be stored in the same bottle used to mix.  The shelf life of the mixture will depend on the type of base oil chosen in step one.
