How to Make an Image Ready Animation
Photoshop is one of the most universal programs used by graphic professionals today. ImageReady is a component in older versions of the Photoshop program, which can be used to animate an image through use of multi-layers. It is a versatile program many graphic professionals still use for creating simple to complex animations. Here's how to make an animation with the ImageReady component.
Supplies
- Older Version of Photoshop (CS3 or earlier) with ImageReady
- Digital Images
- Determine what images you would like to include in your GIF animation and load them in a digital format onto your computer.
- Open your Photoshop program.
- Use the menu to select "File" next, choose "New" and enter the animated GIF's height and width.
- Name your document "Animation Project" for easy recognization from any other projects. Next click "OK."
- Open the "File" from the menu and select the "Open" tab. When the window opens, search and locate the next image you want to include in your project. Copy and Paste the image into your animation project file. Repeat this for each image you want to include.
- Use the toolbar to locate the "Go to ImageReady" tab. This will open your animation project document in the ImageReady software.
- Click on the "Layers" window, then click the eye icon next to the background layer. This will hide the layer. Skip the above layer, but continue to make the rest of the layers invisible.
- Now, click on the menu in the upper corner of the timeline. Select the tab to "Make Frames from Layers." At the bottom select how may times the Gif image will play.
- Select "Image" from the menu and then "Image Size." Set the size for the animation. This procedure will allow you to tweak the size from your earlier setting so your animation is clear and crisp. Once you have the size of the animation you want, click "OK."
- On the menu select "File" and click "Save Optimized As." Give your new animation a great name and click "Save."
Congratulations! You have successfully created an animation in ImageReady.
