How to Mount a TV Shelf
Mounted TV shelves work very well when you are limited or space or just want a different look for your TV. TV shelves also work great for those who don't want to wall mount their TV. TV shelves can be easily installed with the right tools and a few minutes of your time.
Things you'll need:
- TV shelf with screws
- Level
- Stud finder
- Drill
- Drill bit 3/32 inch
- Pencil
- Screw gun
- Find a location in your room to mount your TV shelf. Make sure that your TV screen will be visible from all angles of the room.
- Look for studs in the wall with your stud finder where you desire to install your TV shelf. Mark a level row of "X's" using your level and pencil in the place you will mount your TV shelf.
- Position your shelf on the wall over the area where the "X's" are marked. Carefully align the shelves screw holes with your marks. Use your level to help ensure that the TV shelf is level, so that it will be installed straight.
- Use your screw gun to screw the TV shelf to the wall once it is level. Make sure that you have screwed into the studs that you have marked and found with you stud finder. Screwing directly into the wall studs will ensure the proper support and sturdiness of your TV shelf. You will know if you do not hit a stud because the screw will keep just keep spinning and not go any further in depth.
- Place your TV on your new mounted TV shelf, plug it in and enjoy!
