  • Choose a space. Decide where you can conveniently and safely store the construction tools. Workshops and sheds are ideal, since it is possible for you to keep them locked to prevent untrained people from handling your equipment.

  • Section off a corner of your garage or clear some room in a closet, if it is not possible acquire separate space.

  • Prioritize your tools.

  • Place all tools and equipments before you.

  • Work out a plan as to how you use each equipment every day. Most of the tools used on a daily basis are hand tools rather than the bulkier equipment.

  • Store the items you use most often in a place where they are easily retrieved. It is not advisable to be moving things around constantly.

  • Place the most used items near the door if storing the tools in workshops or other rooms.

  • Divide tools according to their type. Extra collections from over the years and unused tools clutter your tool array.

  • Hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches and other handheld tools can be placed in toolboxes, storage bins and drawers. They can also be hung from the wall with specialized hooks, baskets. Nails and screws can be stored in old coffee cans and plastic food containers.
