How to Organize Golf Clubs
A golf bag can get cluttered quickly if clubs are not organized. Golf clubs can even be damaged by banging around and crashing into one another. Organizing them keeps valuable clubs safe and makes it easy to find the correct club when you are playing 18-holes.
- Look closely at your golf bag. Golf bags can be divided into compartments, from two to six sections, depending on the style of bag. More sections make it even easier to keep your clubs separate.
- Put the biggest and longest clubs in the back of the bag. This includes drivers, woods and any hybrids. The back of the bag is nearest to the strap. Organize the clubs from the left to the right.
- Place the irons in the next row. Put the longer irons on the left side of the bag and the shortest irons on the right side of the bag.
- Place the smaller clubs in the front. This includes wedges and putters. Again, put longer clubs to the left side of the bag and the shorter clubs to the right. Some bags will come with a pit that is especially designed for a putter.
- Tweak the organization to suit your specific needs. Remember to replace each club in the proper location after you are finished using it. This keeps the golf bag organized for future use. Consider adding club covers in different colors or textures. The purpose is to make telling the clubs apart easier and keep any damage from happening to the clubs.
