How to Paint Steel Sheds
Steel sheds can easily be found at local hardware stores. They are reasonably priced and are easy to put together. Everything that is needed to set up the shed is in one box. The only thing that will need to be purchased separately is the foundation.
- Primer the steel shed with a thick primer. Primer can be bought in either a spray can or paint can. It will be easier to paint a steel shed with a paint brush or roller as compared to a spray can. It will also take less paint to paint the shed with a brush or roller.
- Let the primer dry and apply a second coat of primer.
- Decide on the color of paint that will be applied to the shed. Be sure to pick a good quality, exterior paint.
- Apply the paint in even coats after the primer has fully dried. Paint the whole shed evenly and allow the first coat to dry and then apply a second coat. If using a brush be sure that there aren’t any brush lines on the shed. This can be accomplished by making sure the brush always has paint on it. If using a roller, make sure it has a lot of paint on it as well and be careful not to push too hard when rolling the roller. Pushing hard on the roller will leave an uneven coating of paint on the shed.
- Apply a third coat of paint if it is needed.
