How to Paint a Bedroom Wall
Painting a bedroom will change the room’s appearance and feel. Choosing a cool color may bring relaxation while warmer colors can provide a cheery atmosphere to wake up to in the morning. Painting a bedroom wall requires some painting tools and a little skill.
Items needed:
- Paint tray
- Paint roller
- Paint brush
- Water
- Electric sander equipped with sand paper
- Vacuum with brush attachment
- Primer
- Paint
- Take the bed, furniture items and décor out of the room to avoid getting paint on them. Items may be covered with plastic or old sheets if you do not wish to move them.
- Remove all of the defects from the walls using an electric sander. Defects include dried paint drips or bumps. The wall should be smooth when the sanding job is finished.
- Use a vacuum equipped with a brush attachment to suck up all the dust from the sanded wall. Things could get messy if the paint gets mixed with the dust.
- Pour some primer into the paint tray and use the roller to cover all of the easy to paint portions of the wall. Go over the edges near any trim, windows or doors using the regular paint brush.
- Let the primer dry for the proper amount of time. Read the label on the primer can for drying instructions.
- Rinse all the primer of the painting tools with water.
- Paint the wall again using the same technique with the actual paint color you’ve chosen.
- Let the paint dry. Apply a second coat of color, if desired.
