How to Plan a School Playground
A lot of schools have a tough time finding space to put a playground. It's important for children to have a place to play during school because it allows them to interact with other children and learn how to be active. Planning an efficient and safe playground is possible with a little imagination.
Things You'll Need:
- Pencil
- Paper
- Find a safe location for the children to play. Obviously you want to keep them away from dangerous places like roads and other structures that could hurt them. You might have to dig up part of a parking lot near the school or build a fence to make sure they're safe.
- Write a budget plan on how much you're willing to spend. Obviously unexpected costs come up, but you need to have a goal on how much to spend.
- Draw a blueprint of how you want the playground to look like. Include all the equipment and accessories you want to include. Consider visiting other schools and discussing ideas with their representatives. Chances are most schools won't mind talking with you and share ideas about what they like about their playground and what they would do differently. It's always good to have at least a few ideas and opinions.
- Interview and hire a contractor to remodel the area you want to build the playground. There should be many contractors who would like to take on a project like this.
- Hire a builder to install all the equipment properly. Make sure you do a lot of research on the potential builders to make sure they have a good reputation and their just not looking for a paycheck.
