How to Sew on Full Lace Wigs

How to Put on Full Lace Wigs

Full lace wigs can make you look like you have a full natural head of hair. They do require some work to wear properly. If you spend the time preparing these you can wear them time and time again and always look natural.

Putting on a full lace wig is something that is going to require some thought and research. You must first find a wig that looks the best on you and then figure out how you want to put it on. You have a few options with how to wear the wig. A lot of it has to do with what is comfortable to you and how long the wig will be worn.

What You’ll Need:

  • Wig Adhesive

  • Wig Cap

  • Wig Brush

  • Scissors

  • Band or Clip

  1. Gather all of your hair into a ponytail or a bun if you have a lot of hair already. Make sure it is tightly pressed against your head.

  2. Position the wig so that it is on your head how you would want it to be. Pull forward on the lace so that it is aligned to look as natural as possible. The front ear taps need to be even with each other and the edges are where they are supposed to be.

  3. Put the wig back into a ponytail before removing it. Use your scissors to very carefully and slowly cut the wig’s lace off of the edges.

  4. Apply the adhesive right below your hairline. There should be a little bit of adhesive surrounding the hairline going all around your head.

  5. Use the wig brush to brush out the wig and tie it into a looser ponytail. Line up the wig with the adhesive and position it correctly. Push it down onto the adhesive once it is where it should be.
