How to Sew on Full Lace Wigs

Full lace wigs allow you the freedom to part your hair in any direction for just about any type of hairstyle you can imagine. You can even wear your hair in a ponytail without others knowing that you have a wig on at all. Sew on this wig in order to ensure it stays in place for as long as you wish.

Things You Will Need:

  • Full lace wig

  • Rubbing alcohol

  • Scalp protector

  • Adhesive

  • Needle

  • Thread

  1. Prepare your own hair by braiding cornrows into your hair. If your hair is long, you will need to attach the braids to the braids on your head with the thread and the needle to secure them into place and out of the way.

  2. Clean the area where the lace will be attached. For instance, your forehead must be free of oil and other dirt or debris. In order to do this, simply wipe your forehead with rubbing alcohol.

  3. Apply a scalp protector to your hairline to protect your hair from being damaged while wearing the wig. Allow the product to dry completely before moving on.

  4. Apply the lace front glue or adhesive to your hairline and place the wig onto your head. Make sure that you position it into place quickly and firmly press the front of the wig onto the adhesive.

  5. Take your needle and thread and sew the lace portion of the wig onto your cornrows, making sure that you space each thread no more than one inch apart. This ensures that the wig does not come off.

  6. Apply the adhesive to your neckline in the same manner as you did with your forehead and wait for it to dry for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Proceed with styling your hair.
