How to Read Large Print Online

If you are a person who has difficulties with small print, reading articles and text on the Internet can be difficult. While you can move in closer to the screen or squint, this can cause problems such as eye strain, headaches and a sore neck. A simple solution is to adjust the page so that you are able to read large print while online.

Enlarging Online Print in General

  1. Go online to any page on the Internet.

  2. Hold down the "Control" or "Ctrl" key on your keyboard.

  3. Press the "+" sign while you are still pressing down on the "Ctrl" key.  This will cause the print on the page to become larger. Continue pressing the "+" key until the print is large enough so that you can comfortably read and then release both keys.

  4. Press "Ctrl" and the "-" key if you make the print too large. As you adjusting the print your page will also become larger. By pressing the "-" key along with the "Ctrl" key you will be able to fine tune your viewing.

Adjusting Font on Certain Pages

  1. Go to a specific page on the Internet. Certain types of websites, such as news sites, will have the option for you to enlarge or adjust the print on the page that you are reading.

  2. Look for the word "Font" followed by two to three boxes with the letter "A" in varying sizes. This will generally be near the title of the article that you are reading.

  3. Click on the size of font that you want. For example, if you want the largest print, click on the box that has the largest "A" in it. This should adjust the size of the print on the page that you are reading.
