How to Reduce Breast Size Without Cosmetic Surgery

According to WebMD, there are roughly one million women in America with extremely large breasts. Often, these women seek to reduce them for a variety of reasons, such as backaches, numbness in fingers and migraine headaches. While cosmetic breast surgery is one way to reduce their size, there are other less invasive measures that can be taken.

  1. Watch your diet. If you have extra pounds to lose going on a diet can help you to reduce the size of your breasts. This is because breast tissue consists of a large amount of fat. When you go on a diet and start to lose weight your breasts are naturally an area that will begin to shrink along with the rest of you. How much of your cup size you'll lose can vary from person to person. This is not an ideal method for women who are within their healthy weight range.

  2. Exercise routinely to lose fat and tone up your muscles. Cardiovascular workouts help you to shed fat, which as a result will cause you to lose weight in your breasts as well. In addition, strength training using light weights and high repetitions will work out your pectoral muscles, which help lift and firm your breasts. The combination of weight loss and firming can result in a perkier appearance. Women with very dense breasts may not notice much of a change in the size of their breasts.

  3. Wear a minimizer bra. This gives you the appearance of having decreased your bust, usually by one cup size. Although this makes your breasts look smaller, it does not actually reduce their size and provides no lasting results. This is an option for women who want to reduce their breast size but would not benefit from weight loss and prefer not to have reduction surgery.
