How to Remove Scratches From Patio Doors
A patio door can receive many scratches over the course of its life. Children and pets are two of the most common causes of the scratches. It could simply be caused by someone carrying something heavy in their arms and need to kick open the door. The scratches not only look bad but also take away from the resale value of the home.
Materials Needed:

- Cloth
- Newspaper
- Whitening toothpaste
- Steel wool pad

- Start with a clean surface to make the scratch removal process much easier and to remove as much dirt as possible. Spray a mild glass cleaner over the door and wipe it away with a clean cloth. Dry the door with a crumples piece of newspaper. Allow the door to dry for 15 minutes.
- Apply whitening toothpaste to a steel wool pad and go over the glass door. Pay extra attention to the scratches. Use circular motions to apply the toothpaste to the scratches. - Spray a sponge with the solution in the spray bottle. Use the sponge to wash the door. Apply the solution to the sponge as often as necessary.
- Use a cloth to dry the door. Crumple up a piece of newspaper and go over the door. Check the door for scratches. Repeat all of the steps as many times as necessary until the scratches are gone.
