How to Remove Stains From Plastic Kitchenware

Many people used plastic kitchenware to pack lunches in. If you’ve ever micro waved Italian food with red sauce in a plastic kitchen ware you know the stains can be hard to remove. Don’t fret. With the right cleansers you can wash those stains away.

 Items needed:

  • Dual kitchen sink

  • Dish liquid

  • Washcloth

  • Bleach

  • Water

  • Drain Plug

  • Towel

  1. Place a towel flat on the counter top to provide a place for the plastic kitchenware to dry.

  2. Turn on the hot water and wait until it heats up. Place the drain plug into the sink drain; add a squirt of dish liquid and a cap full of bleach to the water. Let the sink fill up about half way before turning the water off.

  3. Place all of the soiled plastic kitchenware into the soapy water and let them sit for about a half an hour. This process will loosen the filth and make the dishes easier to clean.

  4. Grab a washcloth and begin scrubbing each dish until it is completely stain free. If the stains aren’t coming off try allowing them to sit in the water for another half hour or so.

  5. Rinse off each cleansed dish with cool water on the opposite side of the sink.

  6. Place the cleansed and rinsed plastic kitchenware on the towel to dry. You might consider taking them outside to dry. Sunlight can bleach items and remove some stains. If the stains did not come off you may have to purchase some new plastic kitchenware.
