How to Rotate Tires on a Hyundai Sonata

The Sonata is a popular mid-size car that is manufactured by Hyundai. Some people prefer them over to other models because they have great gas mileage and fairly easy to maintain. The car is also a great choice for someone on a budget.

The tires on a Hyundai Sonata should be rotated approximately every 5000 miles to keep the car running smoothly. This is something you can easily do yourself.

  1. Use a lug nut wrench to loosen the nuts on tires. This should be done before you jack the car up.

  2. Put a cement block behind the back tires. This is done to keep the car from rolling when you jack up the front.

  3. Place a jack underneath both sides at the front of the car.

  4. Jack the car up high enough to remove the tires.

  5. Place two jack stands at the rear of the vehicle and lift it up.

  6. Move the rear tire on the passenger side to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

  7. Move the tire from the front of the passenger side to the rear of the driver's side.

  8. Move the tire from the rear of the driver's side to the front.

  9. Move the tire from the front of the driver's side to the rear. If you notice the tires have not been rotated in an "X" pattern.

  10. Replace the lug nuts back on the tires and screw then on my hand.

  11. Lower the rear of the car and place the bricks back behind the tires.

  12. Lower the front end of the car.

  13. Use the lug nut wrench to tighten the lug nuts.
