How to Sell Construction Tools

Construction tools are valuable assets and are great to keep around.  In some instances, though, it becomes necessary to sell tools to make money or because the tools have been upgraded by the owner and are no longer needed.  Some ways to sell construction tools are more effective though than others.

  • Post items online- Items can be sold on several websites including craigslist, eBay and even Facebook.  craigslist is a free website that items can be sold through.  It is best to provide pictures when posting items to sell so that people can see the items' condition. eBay charges a small fee to sell items, but if auctioning the tools, a larger profit may be made.  Facebook is a popular social networking site, and if the items to be sold might interest any friends, posting pictures of the tools and prices might be a good way to sell used construction tools.

  • Flea market- If a person has very many tools, it would be worth it to rent a stall at a local flea market.  If not, maybe other friends would like to go together to sell items they do not want, which could decrease the cost for the stall and increase the number of people visiting the stall, due to a variety of items being sold.

  • Garage sale- Have a garage sale to sell construction tools and any other unwanted items.  Just like with a flea market stall, the more people involved the easier it will be to attract customers and sell the tools.

  • Classified ads- Especially if an individual has large tools to sell, classified ads are a good way to sell them.  In some places, if an ad is placed in a local newspaper, then it also gets placed in a trader ad also.  This increases how many people see the ad by a large amount and also reaches people who don't pay a newspaper subscription.
