How to Fax to an Email Address

How to Send a Fax With Gmail

Much of the Internet-savvy generation is very familiar with one of the world's most popular search engines called Google. Gmail is an email messaging service offered free through Google. Although Gmail offers many exciting features to its users, it unfortunately doesn’t provide the ability to send a fax directly from your email account. Sending a fax through your email is a service feature provided free by the phone company.

1. Ensure that you will be able to send a fax to a designated number by going to www.tpc.int/verify.html. This is a single webpage where you will be asked to enter in the fax number to see if it is covered. Enter the fax number into the empty field then hit the “check” box. If the number is approved, you can send the fax. Otherwise you will not be able to send a fax to that number using your computer

2. Sign into your Gmail account with your email address and password. If you are new to Google and Gmail altogether, you can set up a new email account for free by registering some of your basic information.

3. Select the “Compose” tab as if you were going to create a new email. Begin typing what you would like to include in your fax; as the body of this message will be your fax.

4. Enter in the destination in which you are sending the message into the “To” box using this code: remote-printer._name@fax_number.iddd.tpc.int. An example of this code used in action while sending a fax to John Smith at fax number 1-888-123-4567 would be entered into the field as; remote-printer.John_Smith@18881234567.iddd.tpc.int

5. Click the send box.
