How to Study Paranormal Phenomena

Many people hope to experience a haunting or other paranormal activity. If there is a paranormal phenomena in your area, you can research this and record your findings. Be patient, as paranormal activity might not always happen when you visit. It might take more than one trip, but always be prepared.

Items Needed:

  • Camera

  • Notebook for logging entries and pen

  • Walkie talkies

  • Video cameras

  • EMF detectors

  • Flashlights

  • Digital audio recorders

  • Motion detectors

  • Thermal scanner equipment

Instructions

  1. Visit the location you want to study, and get permission from the owners to set up a research night. The best time to find paranormal activity is from 10 pm at night to 5 am.

  2. After you have permission from the owners, plan a meeting with the other people that will be with you. Decide on a date and time. Set up a location to meet.

  3. Once everyone has arrived, go over some basic procedures. Divide into teams. Never study the paranormal by yourself. You will be in an unfamiliar location, and it's always best to work in teams. Plan on an end time.

  4. Set up any video cameras, lights, or other equipment that will be stationary. Hand out the walkie-talkies.

  5. Write down the date, time, weather conditions, and what each team will be doing in your logbook. You will also want to note who is on each team.

  6. Make sure everyone has the equipment they will need for their job.

  7. Begin to research. Make sure everyone has a turn in the different areas. Don't discuss the research to anyone at this time. Try to make it as normal as possible. Make sure to write down any cold spots or unusual events.

  8. When done, make sure to record anything found by your team members. Plan to meet the next day and go over any findings found by the team. Take down your equipment and leave the area neat and clean. You will also want to say a prayer to ensure that no spirits follow you home.
