How to Style Long Hair Extensions

Long hair seems to never go out of style. Many women use hair extensions to make their hair look fuller and longer. There are several hairstyles you can create with long hair that will keep you looking chic. Just make sure you choose a style that looks good on you.

How to Style Long Hair Extensions

  1. Use a spray bottled filled with water to dampen the hair.

  2. Apply a generous amount of a styling product such as mousse or texturizing spray.

  3. Blow dry the hair as you would your normal hair. It is best to use a blow dryer with a comb attachment because it will help blend the extensions in with your natural hair.

  4. Rub a small amount of styling wax in the palm of your hands and rub it on your hair and the extensions to tame any flyaway hairs.

  5. Use a brush to push the hair up and secure it with a scrunchy or clip if you want to wear a ponytail. Avoid using a comb because it may loosen the extensions.

  6. If the extensions are made with human hair, use a flat iron on the medium setting to create a smooth straight look. If the extensions are made with synthetic hair, set the flat iron on the lowest setting because this type of hair can melt if a higher setting is used. Synthetic hair is a cheaper grade of hair and will not look as smooth as human hair. For the best results part the hair off in small sections and flat iron a small section at a time.

  7. Use a curling iron on the medium setting for human hair to create a curly or wavy look. Set it on the lowest setting if styling synthetic hair. For tight curls, apply a small amount of styling gel to the hair before curling. Use your fingers to fluff out the curls.
