How to Teach Aikido
Aikido is a martial art that can be used to defend oneself. If you have a passion for Aikido, you may decide to teach it. There is no better way to earn a living then by doing something you love to do. You will also have the pleasure of knowing you are helping others that may need to use Aikido in the future.
- Find a good Aikido instructor in order to learn this martial art. If you aren't skilled enough in Aikido to teach it properly to others then you're not helping anyone and are just wasting their time. It takes time, sacrifice, and dedication to get to a level high enough in Aikido to be allowed to teach the martial art.
- Look for open positions for Aikido instructors. Once you reach a level high enough to teach Aikido, the next step is finding people to teach. You can do this by taking an Aikido teaching position within another dojo, or you can open a dojo yourself.
- Find a location in order to open your own dojo. There is more money potential in opening your own dojo, but there is also more risk. You will need to find your own student base while keeping up with everything else involved in running your business. When you are just starting, you may want to only instruct until you feel comfortable enough with your Aikido skills to open your own dojo.
- Stay active in Aikido when you are teaching students yourself. This is important so you don't let your skills get rusty. The more you keep with Aikido and keep learning the martial art, the better instructor you will become.
