How to Test Rechargeable Battery Chargers
If you have devices that are operated using AA, AAA, or other batteries that are replaceable, you are probably going to be spending a lot of money on batteries. A battery charger will save you a lot of money by charging rechargeable batteries. You can reuse these batteries a whole lot of times.
Open up where the battery is located in your rechargeable battery operated device. Most of the covers for the battery compartment slides off or unhinges. Some of the compartments have covers that are sealed shut with a screw. To take these off, just get a screwdriver, take the screw out, and open it up.
Put the rechargeable batteries in the device. Close up the battery compartment. If needed, replace the screw. Turn the device on. You can now use the device until the batteries drain. When this happens, the device will power down or alert you that the batteries are low.
Open up the battery compartment. Take the batteries out. Place the batteries in the charger.
Plug in the charger into an outlet. There will be a light that comes on when the charger turns on. If the light does not come on, plug it into another outlet. Some chargers might not have a light. If the light does not come on, this does not necessarily mean that the charger does not work.
Let the batteries charge for a few hours or overnight. Unplug the battery charger. Take the batteries out of the charger and put them into your device. If the device is working well, that means that the charger works. If the device does not work, then your charger does not work.
