How to Troubleshoot RC Boats
RC boats, or radio control boats, are operated by a remote control. You use the remote control to “drive” the boat on water. If you are having problems with your RC boat, there are some troubleshooting steps you can take to fix it yourself. This can save you money and time.
- Make sure the power switch is set to “On” on the transmitter and the receiver. Sometimes the problem can be the easiest thing. If it is already set to on and it still won’t turn on, try turning it off and then back on again on both the transmitter and receiver.
- Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly on the transmitter and receiver. Open the battery cover and remove the batteries and put them back in again, ensuring you are putting them in correctly. If you have been using these batteries for a while, they could be bad. Try to insert new batteries into both the transmitter and receiver. Make sure you put the + and – symbols up or down correctly.
- Change the frequency and try to find one that allows you to run the RC boat. Ensure the antenna connection is good. Replace the antenna with a new one if it is bad. Make sure you are not close to electrical sources, such as radio towers, that can affect the way the RC boats work. Move to another location and try the boat again. These electrical sources can interfere with the frequency of the RC boat, and cause it not to work properly.
