How to Use Crepe Paper Streamers as Party Decorations

Every great party you attend has crepe paper streamers everywhere.  They liven the party and give the appearance of fun and excitement.  Paper streamers are cheap, too.  Whether it is a huge hall or small room to decorate, you can use streamers for any party occasion.

1. Purchase crepe paper at a party supply store.  You can find them by searching listings on MerchantCircle.  If you need a specific color or a large order of streamers, contact any business listed on this site. 


2. Make sure that you select crepe paper in two colors.  These colors should match the theme of the party.  A Christmas party would have red and green, a Halloween party would have orange and black and of course, a Valentine party would have red and white or red and pink streamers. 


3. Take one end of the first color and place it next to the end of the other color.  Tape or staple them together.


4. Hold the circular rolls together and rotate them about three times.


5. Have a decorating partner put the taped or stapled ends where you want the streamers to begin.  If there is a drop ceiling, you can lift the tile and put the end under it.  You can also tape or tack the streamer to the wall.


6. Continue to rotate the two colors of crepe paper as you let out more paper.  Walk towards the area you want the streamers to hang.


7. Tear or cut the crepe paper streamer from the roll of crepe paper.


8. Have a decorating partner hold up the second end where you want it to hang.  You’ll have to step back and look at the creation to make sure it's not hanging too low (you don’t want people to tear it down).  Adjust the height by shortening the length of the streamer.  You should now have a long streamer going from one spot to another.  Use these on a side wall or hang them across the ceiling.  You might even make an “X” with the crepe paper across the entire ceiling.


9. Have fun with the crepe paper.  You can put up streamers all over the room.  You can never have too many streamers.  They are fun and inexpensive decorations that should be at every party.
