How to Use a Steamer on a Wedding Dress
Most brides will purchase their wedding dress months before the wedding is to take place. Even though the dress is hung in the closet under a cover, it will more than likely have wrinkles. This should not be a reason for concern, because a steamer will knock the wrinkles right out.
How to Use a Steamer on a Wedding Dress
Turn the wedding dress inside out, so that you will be working on the wrong side of the fabric. Wedding dress fabrics are very delicate, so never attempt to use a steamer on the outside of the dress.
Hang the wedding dress so that you will have full access to the entire dress. Many people hang the dress on the shower bar in the bathroom.
Take a small towel and wrap it over the head of the steamer. This is done to prevent water from dripping from the steamer onto the dress.
Hold the steamer approximately 5" from the dress, and steam the front of the dress. Turn the dress around and steam the back. Be careful not to touch the dress fabric with the steamer.
