How to Word Christmas Birthday Party Invitations
Wording a birthday party invitation can be tricky, especially if the birthday falls on one of the biggest holidays of the year, December 25. Christmas birthday parties are fun and festive, but when you are wording the invitation, you want your attendees to understand it is someone's birthday celebration.
- Establish the theme of the party on the front of the invitation. State clearly “It’s Sara’s birthday!” so guests know the purpose of the party. You can use Christmas stationary to acknowledge the holiday, and in fact, you should not ignore it, you just want to make sure your guests don’t think they are attending solely a Christmas affair.
- Say something about “Sara” sharing her birthday with Jesus. For example, “Besides kindness, Sara also shares Jesus’ birthday. Come help us celebrate her at this special time of year.” For a male you could say, “Come celebrate Christmas’ other birthday boy”.
- Use Christmas terminology. Words like "'twas" and "jingle" evoke the holiday season and tie the birthday and the holiday together seamlessly.
- Remember to include the important party information. The address, when it starts and ends and whether or not you want an RSVP. Also, put in a contact number for questions and any requests, such as bringing skates for a trip to the roller rink or a sleeping bag for a sleepover.
- Christmas is a busy time with lots of office, friend and family Christmas parties, so send your invitations early. People will want to schedule your event on their calendar, and you want to give them plenty of time to respond.
