How to Write a Thank You Card to a College Professor
Certain college professors may have a greater impact on you when compared to others. These are the professors that may have taught you a great deal or took the time out to help you when you really needed it. They may have brightened up your day with a little humor from time to time. Thanking them for their time is something that you may want to do.
Go to the store and find a card that is appropriate for the college professor you are going to thank. This card could be of a serious tone or it can have some humor in it. This basically will depend on the personality of the college professor that you are thanking. If your professor was known for his sense of humor, then there is nothing wrong with sending a funny thank you card.
Start with a rough draft of what you want to write. Do not just get the card and start to write on it. You will first want to do some rough drafts to get your wording right. Thank him for any specific moments you may remember and let him know how much you appreciated these moments. If there is not enough room on the card, then insert a small handwritten note.
Add your contact information to your thank you note. College professors will often be curious to see how their former students are doing. You can keep a favorite professor updated on how well your career is going through email.
