How to do Hair Spray Hair Styles

Hairspray will help hold hairstyles that would ordinarily fall after a short period of time. Hairspray can be found in multiple shapes and forms and are designed for multiple types of hairs and styles. The first step to keeping a great style in place is to choose the best hairspray.

Hairspray can help hold beautiful hairstyle in place for longer periods of time. If you're wanting to create unique hairstyles with hairspray there are a few steps that can help you.

  • Find the right hairspray. The first step to creating hairspray hairstyles is to choose the best hairspray. You'll find multiple strengths for different types of hair. Thick hair may need a stiffer hold. A light, airy hairstyle may require a lighter hold. Many retail stores and beauty supply stores will sell small sample size bottles so you can experiment.

  • Know when the use the hairspray. Depending on the hairstyle you may need to apply the hairspray during the styling process. If you want a light hold to finish the style you just need to apply the spray once you're done with the style. In most cases you want to apply a small amount of hairspray in between each step.

  • Shake the container before you use the spray. This will mix up the spray allowing you to get the best hold possible. When a bottle of hairspray sits unused for a while the ingredients can separate, giving you an uneven hold.

  • Know how to position the hairspray before you apply. You don't want to hold the canister too close to the hair because this will give you too much spray in a smaller area. It's usually best to hold the canister at least 6 inches away from the hair before you apply it.

  • Use quick sprays for best results. You don't want to saturate your hair in spray. Instead, you want to apply the hairspray in short bursts. If you're using an aerosol can you can just press down on the nozzle for a second or two at a time. Non-aerosol sprays will let you get a single spray per pump. It's a matter of preference when it comes to the best type of product.
