Ideas on Newspaper Advertising
Newspaper advertising is one of the oldest forms of advertising around, however it is still one of the most used methods of advertising. Use bright colors, pictures and bolded fonts to draw in the attention of the reader, while offering catchy phrases or humor to make an impression and keep them reading.
- Size does matter. Choose the largest size ad that you can afford on your budget to help your ad stand out from the rest.
- Choose your image carefully. You want to use an image that portrays the ad well while using bright colors and eye catching designs to grab the reader’s attention.
- Consider the market that you are advertising to. If your product or service is geared towards stay-at-home-moms for example, you would use a catchy phrase that would accommodate this marketing niche.
- Choose a design for your ad that is going to stand out from the rest. If your ad looks like all of the other ads the reader will bypass it without noticing the content of your ad. You want to make your ad different and unique so that it stands out above your competition.
- Research the feelings that different colors invoke in people so that you can choose a color that suits the marketing niche that you are appealing to. For example, if you are marketing an earth friendly carpet cleaning business, you may want to use the color green because it evokes thoughts of nature.
- Use advertising tactics that make the reader want to purchase your product or services right away. For example, you could place a line at the bottom of your ad that says "Hurry this deal won’t last long!" or "Offer only good for a limited time, so act fast!" These are the type of target lines that encourage the reader to act right away.
