Kitchen Tiles and Floor Cleaning Tips
Tile kitchen floors will often become dirty throughout the day if you have children or pets, so you will have to clean them more frequently to keep them looking clean and shiny. There are commercial floor cleaning products on the market, as well as natural alternatives that you can use to clean your tile to a sparkling clean finish.
Grout Cleaning
If you have ceramic kitchen tile, you will need to clean your grout separately to keep it from getting dirty and dingy. There are two ways to clean the grout on your floor to a sparkling white finish in no time.
- For a natural alternative, use toothpaste with baking soda and a toothbrush to clean the grout. The toothpaste will work into the porous surface of the grout and the baking soda will help to lift out the dirt.
- You can use bleach to clean the grout. Apply the bleach with a toothbrush and then rinse with clean warm water. You may need to repeat the process a couple of times for extremely dirty grout.
Tile Cleaning
- Whether you have linoleum tile or ceramic tile, you can easily clean it naturally with a combination of vinegar and water. Add one-cup of vinegar for every gallon of water that your cleaning bucket holds. If your floors are really dirty you can add a small amount of baking soda to the cleaning solution for an added cleaning boost.
- There are also many different commercial cleaning products on the market that are designed for the specific type of tile flooring that you have in your kitchen. Visit your local home improvement store to purchase a commercial floor cleaner to clean your floors.
