Marketing Plans for Automotive Shops
The automotive service industry is very competitive. Shops are always trying to figure out ways to attract new customers and keep the ones they have. Most customers just want a quality service at a reasonable price. There are a few ways to get customers attention and influence them to visit your shop.
Fleet Accounts
Offer discounted rates to businesses that have a lot of company vehicles. Try negotiating a special rate for basic services like oil changes for every company vehicle. You won't make as much money per vehicle, but you should have very consistent work. Some companies have dozens of vehicles that will all need their oil changed and tires rotated and replaced. Most companies will really like the idea of taking all their vehicles to one place at a discounted rate.
Shuttle Service
Offer customers a ride to work, home or even the grocery store if they live within a certain distance of your shop. Most customers will only have one vehicle and won't want to wait in a lobby for a long time just for basic car servicing. This also can be a great advertising tool because you could put your logo on the vehicle you use to drive people around in.
Coupons
Offer discounted rates with coupons. Chances are there is a coupon booklet that is mailed out to residents near your shop. The cost of producing these coupons probably won't be much. A lot of people are always looking to save money through coupons, especially in a tough economy.
