 People spend countless hours improving the insides of their homes. It may be in your best interest to think about the outside landscaping designs too. Of coarse you want a clean well-maintained home, but remember that the outside is the first thing your guests see, but the only part of your home that many other people see.

When you really think about it, your outside landscaping doesn't differ from your interior decorating by much; for each you need to come up with a plan of action for where you're going to put everything. Inside your home those items might be furniture or arts; in the case of your yard, those things would be plants, patios and yard decor.

Many homes have different architectural designs that can help when deciding how to landscape. For example, if your house has curves in it, you can set yard decor or plants in a way that makes it look like they are curving with the house. This is a great trick to incorporate. 

No Need To Go All Out

Although less isn't necessarily more in this case, you still don't want to build your landscaping up too much. A yard can look much more appealing and modern by focusing more on how you're setting it up than how much you use to do it. Use other yards you like as a guide to help you decide exactly how you want your yard to look. Try to be somewhat unique if possible; it's always more satisfying to know your yard is primarily your design.
