Paint Color Scheme Ideas for a Teen Bedroom
Most teens like to customize their bedroom with unique paint schemes. Sometimes what they want isn't always possible. Usually with a little compromise both the parents and teen can design a scheme they both agree on. Designing a paint scheme can also be a fun project for both the teen and parents.
Themes
Many teens are fans of sports teams, athletes, movie stars or television shows. Designing a paint scheme to resemble a certain theme can be a very fun project. The biggest challenge will be deciding how many colors to use in the theme. Try finding a picture of the type of theme you're looking to accomplish and take it to a paint store. There should be at least one person at the store who can help you pick out colors that match the best.
Complimentary Colors
Sometimes it's easier to just pick a couple complimentary colors like red and green and use them. A popular look is to paint two walls the same color and the other two walls the other color. This is a simple scheme, but it usually provides a nice look. Most teenagers shouldn't have any trouble deciding on two colors they like.
Stripes
This scheme might not be appealing to parents, but a lot of teenagers like stripes on their walls. This scheme will be difficult because you'll have to measure and mark each stripe before you paint it. There is no way you could paint each stripe the same width and in a straight line without drawing a sketch first.
