Planter Garden Plans

A planter garden is a great way to enjoy the luxury of a garden when you are dealing with limited space. You can plant a planter garden on an outdoor patio to bring the beauty of a garden to any small outdoor space. Use a variety of different planter sizes to add depth to an outdoor planter garden.

  • Choose a variety of different planters to create depth and visual interest. Mix and match small and large planters and choose different colors and styles that work well together. Consider the color of the flowers you will be planting when you choose the color of the planters you are going to use to create a colorful and cohesive effect.

  • Make a blueprint of the planter garden you are designing. Measure the dimensions of the outdoor space you are going to be using as well as the planters that you have chosen so that you can create a realistic diagram when mapping out the placement of the different planters you are going to use.

  • Observe the lighting patterns of the outdoor space you are going to be using to determine how much sunlight the area gets. You need to choose plants that are going to be able to tolerate the amount of sunlight or shade that the area receives. If the space you are going to use is covered, such as a balcony, you want to choose plants that are going to be able to withstand this much shade.

  • Choose aromatic flowers that are going to add a vibrant fragrance to the planter garden. Not only will this stimulate the senses, it will draw in certain species of birds and butterflies as well. Choose a variety of different colors and textures within the planter garden to create visual interest.
