What is Permanent Makeup?

Procedures for Permanent Makeup

Many women in order to remain young and beautiful will turn to procedures for permanent makeup. Permanent makeup could include lipstick, eyeliner or eye shadow and permanent eyebrow penciling. There are several different procedures one could choose from but the results will not be instant. There is a healing process most women do not take into account.

There are several procedures for permanent makeup a woman could choose from to help her look her best any time of the day or night. Most women decide to invest in permanent makeup to regain a youthful look and stay beautiful as long as possible. The majority of the procedures are similar to tattooing and will be about as painful and take a while to heal.

Many women head to a doctor who specializes in permanent makeup procedures; however, this is not something that is regulated by the greater part of the states. That means that many licensed cosmetologists and tattoo artists will perform permanent makeup procedures and not be able to use the prescription numbing medications found at the doctor's offices. They will use alternatives such as herbs to help with the pain.

One of the most popular permanent makeup procedures is the eyeliner. This is a dark brown or black ink applied to the 'rim' of the eyes. Traditional eyeliner can be a hassle to apply daily and accidents, such as poking an eye with the wand, happen all the time.

Permanent lipstick is another popular procedure. Many women have used the same lipstick all their lives and know they will never change. Depending on what color a woman chooses for her permanent lip color she could place a different color on top of it once it has healed.

Permanent eyebrows are a procedure many women have when they are older because they may be losing hair and that includes their eyebrows. A permanent eyebrow penciling looks natural and will not smear.

Healing time varies for each procedure, but they mostly take about three days with no strenuous activates. This would include doing anything that would get a woman dirty such as cutting the grass or going to the beach where the wind and sand could blow onto her new makeup.
