Get all of the other driver's information. This information should include their insurance company's name, phone number, and a contact person.
Obtain a copy of the accident report from the police.
Make sure you call your insurance company and inform them of the other driver's insurance information.
Get a claim number from the other driver's insurance company. Get a claim number from your insurance company if your insurance company is paying for the rental car. Your insurance company can later recover any charges from the other driver's insurance company.
Visit the car rental company. Provide them with the claim number. They may require a credit card for the rental car. Some rental car agencies will not require a credit and card and take the claim number only. Get a copy of any bills from the rental car company.
