Process to Measure Kitchen Cabinets in Order to Mount
When measuring for kitchen cabinets you will need to use a ruler or tape measure. If you do not have one it can be purchased at most local hardware stores. You want to make sure what you choose will measure in inches. This is because cabinets that are sold in the United States are often sold based upon inch increments.
Start by making a graph design of your kitchen. You want to make a diagram that will show basically where everything will be located in the kitchen. You need to include all appliances, sinks and any mounted hardware in the kitchen.
Measure your outside wall in the kitchen. You want to do this by measuring the total length from one corner to the other corner. Take at least two measurements, and use the smallest measurement. Make sure you measure all windows and doors. It is imperative not to leave anything out. The slightest mishap could result in not having enough space.
Put a mark where everything in the kitchen will go. Make sure you measure the area for each appliance so there will be enough room for them to fit properly. Make sure you get the proper measurement and write it down.
Measure the wall sections where the cabinets will go. This is done by measuring from the corner of the window or doorway to each cabinet location. Then make your mark where the cabinet will start and end in width and length. Make sure your measurements add up on each wall.
After you have the width measured for the cabinets, do the same for the height. Measure from the floor to the ceiling marking where the cabinets will start and end. Once you get all the measurements of the cabinets, it is time to get ready to install them.
