Smashbox Makeup Tips

Smashbox Cosmetics is a major player within the makeup industry today.  Its makeup artists are highly sought after for professional photo shoots.  For this reason, a lot of people are looking for tips on how they too can create this makeup style for themselves.

Face

• Use a priming product for flawless makeup application and coverage.  It will also keep your foundation in place.  Make sure that the primer you use is right for your skin type.


• Apply one pump of primer to your face before using your fingers or a deep sea sponge to apply your foundation.


• Use foundation sparingly (only need one pump).  Only put foundation where you need it.


• When applying foundation, start at the center of your face and blend the foundation outward and downward.


• Keep your cheek color subtle.  Find a color that mimics your natural flush.  Also consider using a highlighter or bronzer for a blush.


• To achieve the look of high cheekbones, softly blend a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone beneath your cheekbones.

 Eyes

• Use an eye-brightening product under your eyes to get rid of dark circles under your eyes.  This will diffuse the darkness and make your face look well rested.  Apply this under the eyes and blend outwards with your fingers then smudge some at the inner corner of your eyes.


• Don’t use liquid eyeliners because they tend to quickly dry out and look harsh.  Instead, use cream liner. 


• To apply eyeliner make a series of small dots along your lash line, then use a smudger brush to connect them together.

Lips

• Apply a lip primer before applying your lipstick so that it will stay in place all day long.


• Lip color should enhance your complexion.


• For a soft look on your lips, use a creamy cheek color instead of lipstick.
