Suzuki Forenza Engine Removal

An engine in any car is bound to malfunction at some time. At this point, you must remove the engine in order to repair or replace it. The Suzuki Forenza features a front-wheel-drive setup is that ideal for the removal process.

Supply List
- Engine hoist
- Wrench
- Open the hood of the car. Remove the battery from the car, as well as the air box and the plastic cover. You should remove the fluid reservoirs also.
- Bleed the engine of the all of the coolant. Uninstall the radiator hoses, both the lower and upper hose. Remove the throttle cable that is attached to the throttle body. Disconnect the exhaust manifold, which connects to the engine block.
- Detach the cover located on the exhaust manifold. Underneath the cover should be a series of bolts.
- Drain the transmission of all of its fluid. Do so by removing the bolt on the transmission pan. Remove the transmission from the engine.
- Detach all of the electrical components from the engine including the computer harness and the vacuum hoses.
- Unscrew the blots attached to the engine mounts. These connect to the car’s sub frame.
- Unbolt the engine mounts where they connect with the car's sub frame, taking care not to damage the spongy shock mounts found there.

- Take the engine hoist and hook it to the round tab located on the engine block. The tab signifies the factory’s installation location for the engine.
- Elevate the engine via the engine hoist. Be careful, because wires and hoses are notorious for getting in the way and you do not want to do any internal damage to the parts in the car. After the engine reaches a point beyond the core support, use the engine hoist to pull away from the car. After you complete the engine removal, move the engine to an engine stand or to a location where you can work on it.
